BROADWAY AUDITION WORKSHOP

The Broadway Audition Workshop is an eight-week course designed to help performers of all ages and levels of experience to prepare them for the professional world of auditioning. The course is taught by David Alpert, with accompanist Shane Parus (Elf, Mamma Mia, Memphis).

  • David works with each participant to:

    • find appropriate rep for auditions!

    • make audition cuts that make sense for each audition!

    • prepare for the many different styles of musical theatre!

    • participate in mock auditions to learn those skills in a safe environment!

    • communicate effectively with the accompanist!

    • navigate the audition industry with better knowledge!

    • became more confident in auditioning!

  • You! The workshop is open to performers of all ages and levels of experience—anyone wanting to learn how to audition better.

  • The workshop is an eight-week course, designed with specific assignments each week. Each week is a three hour class.

  • The workshop has a limited class size which allows more one-on-one coaching time. David has taught “Audition Skills” to hundreds of actors at New York University and offers a unique perspective: acting coach, director, professor, college admission adjudicator. Unlike other coaches, David has spent his entire career “behind the table” and adjusts his approach to each actor’s needs.

  • The workshop fee is $850 for the eight week course, with 24 hours of instruction time. Payments are through Venmo/Zelle, with $100 non-refundable fee due upon enrollment. Check for early-admission discounts!
